Liverpool to look at three potential signings in January
Reports have revealed that Liverpool are looking to prioritise a new centre-back signing this January. This is mainly due to a knee injury to Joel Matip.
The Reds released an official update on their club website on Wednesday revealing that Matip has suffered an injury to his anterior cruciate ligament.
Hence, Klopp is now looking to bolster his defensive ranks as Matip could be facing months on the sidelines.
Target 1 for the Reds: Maxence Lacroix
The 23-year-old Frenchman is understood to be a long-term target for the Reds. Moreover, Klopp is said to be a big admirer of the French defender.
He has already made 113 total appearances for Wolfsburg despite his young age. Moreover, he has started in every Bundesliga match in the 2023/24 campaign when available.
Target 2 for the Reds: Goncalo Inacio
The Portuguese has been on Liverpool’s radar for a while now as Klopp looks to sign the 22-year-old. Moreover, the defender is slowly becoming a crucial part of Sporting and the Portugal squad.
He has made 19 appearances across all competitions for Sporting this season, including all 12 league fixtures.
Target 3 for the Reds: Lucas Beraldo
Beraldo is the third name on the list and the youngest option for Liverpool at just 20 years old.
He broke through into Sao Paulo’s first team in 2022 and has become a mainstay in the first team. He has 24 appearances in the 2023 season.
