After shocking news regarding Moises Caicedo to Liverpool being a done deal, it seems like we have another view on the situation.
In one of the most tumultuous days outside of a deadline day, Caicedo’s future has been in limbo all day. He had been amid talk of a move to Chelsea and Liverpool.
In the last few hours, the Reds are believed to have agreed a £111m fee with Brighton. Chelsea meanwhile, are believed to be trying to get Caicedo to still convince him to come to London.
As per Sky Sports reporter, the Ecuadorian is wanting a move to Chelsea and has rejected the possibility of joining Liverpool.
Taking to Twitter, Plettenberg has said that a move to Liverpool is OFF as it stands. Moreover, Caicedo apparently rejected the chance to join the Reds as soon as he heard of their bid.
This means only one thing, Caicedo is pushing for a move to Chelsea but the Blues haven’t yet outbid Liverpool.
This could be a bad thing for Chelsea as Brighton would eventually sell the player to the highest bidder. And Chelsea might end up having to pay more than what they initially planned.
Caicedo playing the waiting game with Liverpool
The 21-year-old is now prioritizing a move to Stamford Bridge but the Blues aren’t outbidding the Reds.
Moreover, if Liverpool withdraws their bid and Chelsea never outbid them, the player ought to stay at Brighton for another season.
Roberto de Zerbi has spoken in no uncertain terms about Caicedo today as well and if a move doesn’t come off, he could well be left in limbo.
This is a mess in general, this one. For Liverpool, it must be infuriating. While for Chelsea, they are basically being played.
This has very well been a very chaotic last 24 hours for all the parties and it is to be seen where this saga is headed.
