Liverpool won’t be signing Japanese international forward Daichi Kamada this summer, with AC Milan set to win the race for his signature.
The Reds were reportedly keen on signing the Japanese forward and were looking to make a last-minute move. However, as per 90min, the 26-year-old is set to join AC Milan after the player reached an agreement.
Moreover, the Italian journalist as well confirmed that the agreement is ‘in the ‘final stages’ for the player. The Japanese international has had a great season with the German club.
He played 46 games for Frankfurt and scored 16 times while assisting 7 times. However, he played in the midfield position for most of the season. The 26-year-old could also play in the wings which makes him versatile.
Liverpool miss out on Daichi Kamada
The Japanese hasn’t been a top target for the Reds this summer. However, it is a matter of concern as the summer transfer hasn’t been eventful for the Reds.
The long-time Liverpool target, Bellingham is set to join Real Madrid. Meanwhile, the number 2 target in Mason Mount is said to be interested in joining Man Utd.
Despite this, the new sporting director, Jorg Schmadtke seems to be taking Liverpool in the right direction with his transfer targets.
Since his announcement, the Reds have reportedly completed the signing of Mac Allister. Also, the 54-year-old has most possibly signed his former employee, Micky Van de Ven.
The Reds are also targeting the French duo of Kone and Thuram who have been impressive. Definitely, they would be ones for the future with both being just 22 years old.
The Reds need to get their hands dirty in the transfer market and with their UCL criteria lacking, it might be a long busy summer for them.
The Reds must now just move on quickly. They will sign players. The big question, really, is if they’ll be their first choices.
