Newcastle are gearing up for a significant move in the upcoming transfer window, eyeing Juventus winger Federico Chiesa.
Despite Liverpool‘s interest, reports indicate that Newcastle are at the forefront of securing Chiesa’s signature, having inquired about him previously.
As per Tutto Juve, Juventus values the 26-year-old at around £52 million and The Magpies seems willing to meet this price to strengthen their forward line for their Champions League aspirations.
Clubs interested in Chiesa apart from Newcastle and Liverpool
Both Arsenal and Chelsea are also keeping a close watch on Chiesa’s situation.
Although Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp have a high regard for Chiesa, with a past interest in acquiring him to play as an advanced winger, the recent buzz primarily revolves around Newcastle’s pursuit.
Chiesa’s versatility across the front line and his track record of 71 goals and 50 assists in 297 appearances make him an appealing prospect for Eddie Howe’s team.
With Chiesa’s contract expiring in 2025 and uncertainty lingering over a contract extension with Juventus, there’s a possibility the club might opt to sell him to avoid losing him on a free transfer in the future.
The Merseysiders were considering the Italian footballer as a replacement for the Egyptian Mo Salah. However, now it looks like the Reds might need to knock on other doors in case Saudi rises again in the hunt for Salah’s signatures.
