Pep Guardiola is looking forward to winning the only title in hand after Liverpool knocked out Manchester City at the Wembley Stadium.
The Reds locked horns with Manchester City in the FA Cup semifinal. The Reds had a good game scoring 3 goals in the initial 45 minutes as Ibrahima Konate scored a towering header and Sadio Mane scored a brace leaving the Citizens stunned. Thus, now Liverpool will play another final with Chelsea on the 14th of May 2022 at Wembley.
Jamie O’Hara accuses Pep Guardiola of disrespecting Liverpool
Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jamie O’Hara accused Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola of ‘almost disrespecting’ Liverpool by deploying second string-goalkeeper Zack Steffen in the FA Cup semi-final.
Ederson is the first choice Goalkeeper for Man City who also played in the draw against the Reds in the Premier League. Moreover, he almost gave a goal away by mistake when Diogo Jota made a sliding tackle inside the box and was just a touch away from scoring.
However, keeping Ederson on the bench for the big semi-final game against the Merseyside club was a brave call by Pep Guardiola or it was a bad call as Liverpool scored 3 goals before halftime only putting City under pressure for the rest of the game.
Liverpool upcoming challenges
After sending Manchester City back to their home by booking the ticket to the final of the FA Cup, Liverpool will now face Chelsea in the final.
The Reds have already beaten Chelsea once in the Carabao Cup final after a long round of penalties at the end.
Meanwhile, Klopp’s side are just 1 point behind the league leaders Manchester City in the Premier League as the race for the title narrows down to only these two teams.
The Reds also have a semi-final to play against Villareal in the UEFA Champions League after beating Benfica in the quarter-final stage.
