Amidst the 2024-25 Premier League, the World Cup Qualifiers are currently going on and we got another goalless draw recently. Now, the Uruguayan National media has placed their scores for the performance of Darwin Nunez.

Although the game ended in a stale result, both of the sides have displayed unbelievable show of determination and grit. While Ecuador had an impenetrable defense on their end, Uruguay did not stop from creating chances and dominating the game.

Nunez has received ratings from the media after his performance against Ecuador

Although fans were cheering for the 25-year-old star in the World Cup Qualifier, the match ended in a disappointing goalless draw. With a number of weeks ahead of him, the Uruguayan forward still has time to impress his Liverpool boss in the future.

Some popular sources of the Uruguayan media have reacted to Darwin Nunez. El Observador, one of the popular ones, has rated the Liverpool No. 9 star a 5/10 after the match.

Furthermore, this media outlet criticised Nunez for getting tired at the end of his performance.

“Around 9 minutes he had a goal chance after a remarkable pass from Federico Valverde, but the rival goalkeeper, Galíndez, contained him very well.”

“He seemed very mobile, giving a hand even in the middle of the field. The left post denied him the goal at 32′ after a very good turnaround.

In addition, he continued to always love it and look for a good decision with and without the ball. At times, he ended up getting tired.”

However, El Pais did love his performance much and they rated Nunez 6/10.

“Along with Valverde and Josema Giménez he was one of the most outstanding. At 10 minutes he had a powerful cross shot that forced Galíndez to intervene.

Five minutes later, he received a cross from Maxi Araújo and headed wide. In the 17th minute, he left Facu Pellistri one-on-one with his filtered pass and six minutes later he gave it to Valverde for his powerful volley.”

According to them, Nunez was outstanding with his in-game performance. However, in the end, he failed to deliver a proper ending to his powerful efforts at the Estadio Centenario stadium.

“In the final stretch of the first half he was about to score: received a pass from Giorgian De Arrascaeta, turned around and shot with power, but the shot burst the post and went wide.”
