‘Love being a Liverpool player’: 30-year-old suggests there’s no way he’ll be leaving Anfield anytime soon

Brazil international, Alisson Becker has declared that he ‘loves’ being a Liverpool player, after celebrating five years at the club.

Yesterday marks half a decade since the Reds signed Alisson from Roma. In that time, the Brazilian has become a modern great at Anfield, winning a host of trophies and individual accolades.

Speaking to liverpoolfc.com about his 5th anniversary, Alisson spoke about his time at Liverpool.

“It’s a fresh start from the past five years. I only use those years to remember how good it is to be a Liverpool player. How good it is to be part of this family – a big family.

The team, the supporters, the staff; everybody here, they are amazing. I love this place. I love being a Liverpool player and I want to give my all for the team to achieve our goals and go back to winning again.”

Alisson reaffirms Liverpool commitment

After a week of disappointment for the fans, they would be happy hearing about Alisson speaking about his Liverpool time.

The fans obviously feel that their players would have the same love for the crest and the club. But when the same is reciprocated in such a way, it is appreciated by the fans nevertheless.

Not that the departing Henderson and Fabinho don’t feel that way. But, the last few weeks have been a disappointment as they are willing to leave the club this summer.

Fabinho moving out is understandable as he didn’t have a great season last time out. Probably he recognized that he was on the decline and got the club a decent price.

However, the same couldn’t be said about Henderson. Liverpool’s captain for 8 years and a player for 12 years, forcing his way out could be a lot more saddening for the fans.

True he was told his game-time would be reduced but him being the captain, fans would expect him to fight for the badge, come what may.

Hence, amongst all this, it is refreshing for the fans to see Alisson share his commitment to the club.
