Key Players Returning From Injury In Contention To Feature In The Atalanta Clash!

Four key Liverpool players: Alisson Becker, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Stefan Bajcetic and Diogo Jota have returned to training, coming fresh from injury and are in contention to feature in the Atalanta match.

The coming days will turn out to be crucial for the Reds as they are still very much alive in the title race of the Premier League and the UEFA Europa League.

The hopes for the PL title are a little shaky at this moment due to the recent 2-2 draw against Manchester United which resulted in the Merseysiders slipping to the second position on goal difference, despite having an equal amount of points as Arsenal.

However, the chances of LFC winning the Europa League title in the farewell season of Jurgen Klopp are very high, with the team consistently performing well in the competition.

Adding to the odds positively, four very important Liverpool players are on their way to making comebacks.

No Injury Issues for Liverpool Ahead of Atalanta Clash

Although long-time injured players like Joel Matip, Thiago Alcantara and Ben Doak will still be out, optimism surrounding the returns of Alexander-Arnold, Jota, Alisson and Bajcetic have sparked much hope within the fans.

These players were involved in the full training on Tuesday afternoon at the AXA Training Ground. While asked if the players would feature in the Europa League match, Klopp said in the pre-match conference,

“We will have to see that.”

Klopp provided updates on the boys and their current situation by saying,

“So, obviously we didn’t rush it with the boys. You can but we didn’t, that means they did a lot of training by themselves, especially Diogo and Trent, [they] worked as a group for two or three weeks really properly training. So, [they] looked very good yesterday, to be honest.

Stefan is different a little bit because he was out for much longer, but he is now training with us for longer as well. But I think after the long spell he had without playing football it makes sense that we might give him a game at U21s and then let’s see how he deals with that. That’s not the plan with the other three guys. Alisson is on the way back as well. So, we have to see that.”

The German tactician also shared some insights on how the reintegration process will take place even if they do not start the game.

“They are now back in training and now we have to see how we involve them and how we use them. That we need them is clear. But we need them in the best possible shape, and we want to give them kind of rhythm.

It’s always a challenge trying to reintegrate the guys. With the quality they have it should be easier, and we will use them in the next days and weeks, but what it means for tomorrow I didn’t make a decision yet.”

Klopp stated.

Even though the four players might not start the game, the Reds boss most definitely knows his cards well and will be mindful to deploy them at the right time.
