In a candid assessment, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp acknowledged that Cody Gakpo’s earlier transition into a midfield role had not panned out as expected, affecting the player’s confidence.
Despite Gakpo’s initial success after joining from PSV Eindhoven, the young Dutch forward struggled to replicate his consistent form, particularly in the high-stakes Premier League title race.
