Saudi Arabian clubs have been the most active in the transfer market surprisingly more than Liverpool and the fans are relieved that Salah has joined a Saudi club.
There was panic amongst the Reds’ supporters as Salah was in the news due to the recent transfer saga involving him. But there was a relief when they come to know that it wasn’t their Egyptian king.
A load of players have been tempted by Saudi cash in recent weeks. The likes of Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante, and Ruben Neves being the big names to move in recent weeks.
However, it looks like Liverpool’s Salah will not be one of them – at least for now. Fans voiced their relief on social media after seeing “Mohamed Salah” trending and fearing the worst.
The good news for Liverpool fans is that Salah signed a contract last year which will keep him at the club until 2025.
The Egyptian has played 305 games for Liverpool since joining from Roma in 2017. He scored 186 goals in that time and helped Liverpool to a Premier League title and a Champions League in his six seasons with the club.
Mo Salah to stay at Liverpool?
Even though the winger has signed a new contract with Liverpool, there have been rumours about a Saudi club showing interest in the Egyptian.
There have been reports about the Middle East club, Al Hila wanting to sign the 31-year-old this summer.
After poaching world-class talents from Europe, the Middle Eastern clubs are not yet satisfied. They are chasing superstars of European football who are nearing their peak.
The very transfer of Ruben Neves is proof of the same. A player who was chased by the likes of Liverpool and Barcelona, but was eventually lured by Al-Hilal in Saudi.
The recent footballing powershift has been followed by the transfer of one of the footballing greats, Ronaldo. Ever since the Portuguese arrived in the Saudi league, there has been a series of superstar signings.
Currently, Middle Eastern clubs are looking to bring in even more players to build a footballing powerhouse in Asia.
However, as of now the Reds’ fans are relieved that their Egyptian winger is staying at Anfield.
