Liverpool forward Salah to replace Messi at PSG

Liverpool ace, Mohammed Salah has reportedly met with PSG president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi in Morocco amid speculation over his club future.

Salah has been linked to a move away from Liverpool after the other two players in the trio have left the club. Moreover, the departures of Bobby Firmino and Sadio Mane meant that the Egyptian is the only player left in the famous attacking trio that won Liverpool titles.

The winger is, however, linked to a move to Paris as Messi has officially joined Inter Miami from PSG. With speculations over Neymar and Mbappe’s future, the PSG board have identified Salah to be their main attacking target.

However, the 24-year-old French attacker has confirmed that he would be continuing his career at PSG the next season. He eventually put to bed the transfer rumours of him agreeing on a move to Real Madrid.

Neymar is also on the verge of leaving the club after they reportedly agreed to allow the Brazilian to leave this summer. Also, the club would be willing to leave their record signing if there is a suitable offer for him.

In accordance with this, there have been reports from GFFN, that the 31-year-old winger met with the PSG president in Morocco.

This news broke out after the pair were spotted in London earlier this year. The report claims that Al-Khelaifi has sounded out Salah to gauge his interest in a potential move to Paris.

It is claimed that the pair have been in constant contact since the World Cup in Qatar this winter.

Salah to join PSG from Liverpool?

The incredible Egyptian forward has been Liverpool’s best player over the past seasons and in due course has also become their 5th top goal-scorer. Since joining the Reds in 2017 from Roma, he has 186 goals and 79 assists in 305 appearances in all competitions.

The Egyptian also signed a new contract with the Reds which would keep him in Merseyside till 2025. But there have been speculations over his future at Anfield. It is feared that the winger could be lured to Paris over a potential move.

We very well know how this ends when PSG are meeting with players under contract with other clubs. Neymar is a prime example!

Al-Khelaifi is said to have suggested in the latest meeting that Salah could replace Messi at the Parc des Princes.

Salah was ‘happy to entertain Al Khelaifi’s approach’ without ‘necessarily agreeing with the PSG president’, according to the report.

Would this be a good transfer?

Liverpool legend, Robbie Fowler said that PSG are ‘nailed on’ to make a move for Salah to fill Messi’s shoes.

“[Robert] Lewandowski looks like he’ll finish his career at Barcelona, while no way can I see [Erling] Haaland or [Kylian] Mbappe being available this summer, or any time soon.

Which leaves [Harry] Kane and Salah…and Neymar, if anyone is daft enough to take a punt on a player who looks like he’s had enough of football. Four of the biggest clubs in the world who want one thing – the guarantee of goals.

And two strikers in English football who have delivered them magnificently over the past seven years. There’s going to be a helluva scrap.

I only mention Salah because I’ve thought for a few months now that he could be targeted this summer, and it wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if both Madrid and PSG come in for him – with the French club nailed on in my opinion to try and get him.

I don’t think Liverpool fans should be too worried, because he’s got a long contract and the club has proved in the past few years they won’t be forced into selling unless its on their own terms.

In saying that, that his statement at the end of the season declaring how devastated he was they didn’t finish in the top four, and there’s no excuse for it was a worry.

To me, that didn’t sound like Mo, but his agent. And we know how HE operates. PSG have to bring in a big, big name to replace Messi this summer, and probably Neymar too. So they’ll be swinging big – and they could have a real go at Kane too.”
