Liverpool could potentially sell their current RB Leipzig loanee in the January transfer window as he has hardly featured for the German club.
The 21-year-old winger joined the Bundesliga club on a season-long loan deal in the summer. However, Carvalho has hardly featured for Leipzig since signing earlier this year. He has only 9 times in the Bundesliga with only 158 minutes.
As a result, reports have emerged that Liverpool will recall Carvalho and look to send the former Fulham wonder kid out on loan to another club next month.
Liverpool to sell wonder-kid Fabio Carvalho
However, according to ESPN, Liverpool could permanently sell the attacking midfielder to Leipzig.
Given how little the youngster has featured for the German side this season, this would be a surprise deal. Although he is a talented player, one to look out for in the future, he needs those minutes to improve.
Moreover, he has been lauded by Klopp as an ‘outstanding prospect.’ This could mean that the youngster could still have a future at Liverpool despite his poor start to life at Merseyside.
However, if Leipzig offers a good bid for the youngster, Liverpool could be tempted to sell. Moreover, the Reds need the funds as well to bring in reinforcements in January.
The German side are a big fan of Portuguese international and could secure his signature. Moreover, selling Carvalho could please all parties if Leipzig can offer a suitable offer. And Liverpool needs some added finances in the January transfer window.
Leipzig director Schroder told Fussball Transfers has now suggested that Carvalho will now get minutes.
“We want the boy to scratch and bite. He will get his playing time.”
However, with just 360 minutes played all season, it would be a miracle if Leipzig’s stance on Carvalho changes soon.
