Leroy Sane could replace Salah at Liverpool

Liverpool plot late move to sign £42.2M German star: Report

Liverpool were considering Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane as an option to replace Mohamed Salah if he would have left for Saudi Arabia.

The Merseysiders have completed the signing of Ryan Gravenberch on the ultimate day of the transfer window. And with this signing, they successfully executed their midfield rebuild for this season.

There had been a chatter about a fifth midfield signing before the window closes but as expected it didn’t happen.

The Reds added Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo, and most recently Gravenberch to the midfield. And despite losing several players, this team can go on to challenge for titles and win them.

But the Saudi scare has been the most traumatizing event for the club as many players had been and are on the target list of the Saudi Pro League.

Thus, the best player in this Liverpool team, Mohamed Salah remains one of their top targets this summer. But the latest report might be pretty comforting for the Kopites.

Liverpool target Leroy Sane to replace Salah?

According to an exclusive via Football Insider, the Merseysiders have identified Leroy Sane as their next target to replace Mohamed Salah.

Reports suggest that even though the club turned down the £150M offer for the Egyptian international, a future bid of £200M could make Liverpool consider it.

Thus, in that case, the best way to conduct business would be to capitalize on the chance and replace him with a player of a similar class.

And Sane is the perfect candidate to do so. The 27-year-old has the necessary experience and he is a PL-proven attacker under Pep Guardiola’s management in Manchester City.

The 53-capped German international won 2 PL titles with City and 3 Bundesliga titles with Bayern Munich. He had 24 goal contributions in total across last season in last season. And this season he has already scored 2 goals in just 3 games.

Thus, when the time comes, it is better to be ready and Sane is a great option.
