Reports suggest Liverpool are confident that Romeo Lavia is eager for Anfield move and they will soon capture the deal.
The Reds have already successfully added Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai to the club. And they will not stop their shopping spree here and are most likely working towards signing a defensive midfielder. And Romeo Lavia looks like a perfect candidate for the job title except for the price tag.
Romeo Lavia keen on Liverpool move
As per a new report via Football Insider, the Merseysiders believe that the Belgian is keen to join the club. The Reds are way ahead of other potential suitors and a transfer is ‘expected to be agreed’ if only they and Southampton land on the same page.
LFC are prepared to submit a £40M bid for the 19-year-old as negotiations are ongoing. However, the Saints want to maximize their profit and asking £50M for the midfielder. Also, Manchester City will receive a 20% cut from the deal as per the sell-on clause.
The Southampton midfielder is a defensive midfielder capable of breaking up attacks, closing down open spaces to put an end to opposition attacks, and building up progressive play from the back, turning defense into attack.
Although Lavia is the top priority for the Reds, the money involved in the business remains the primary obstacle. However, either one side or both sides have to come to a settlement to get this deal done.
Fabrizio Romano via GIVEMESPORT has claimed that the deal might go through if Liverpool agrees to the £50M fee with add-ons or if the Reds sacrifice a player as leverage and try persuading Southampton to sell Lavia.
Moreover, Romeo Lavia‘s eagerness for a potential Anfield move might help accelerate the deal and get the deal done. It is now only a matter of time before the two clubs come to an agreement that would satisfy both parties.
