Christopher Nkunku is the name buzzing around, as a potential move to Liverpool. The 23-year-old Frenchman has started the season quite well. Moreover, he also struck a hat-trick against Manchester City in a Champions League clash recently.

The Frenchman has been featuring regularly for RB Leipzig since his bold move from Paris Saint Germain in 2019. According to the Liverpool Echo, Jurgen Klopp has identified Nkunku as a potential signing.

Why should Jurgen Klopp emphasize Nkunku to Liverpool ?

Liverpool have been linked with many attackers in the last summer’s transfer window. Many big names emerged as transfer options but a move never materialised.

However, Klopp will continue to search for offensive solutions ahead of the next few transfer windows. Nkunku’s hattrick against Pep Guardiola’s outfit made Liverpool fans very excited over his potential move to Anfield.

The versatile attacker, can play in numerous positions including central midfield, both flanks, as a centre forward or as a number 10.

Nkunku has been one of the RB Leipzig’s biggest attacking threats in recent seasons. While goals have been a big segment for Nkunku’s game but he is also proficient in moving the ball and keeping the game flowing.

Former PSG manager, Laurent Blanc stated (about Nkunku) :

“He came up from the youth team to help us, and given PSG’s strength, that can be difficult for a young player. But I noticed the ease of his technique and I don’t think I was alone. It was a nice surprise.”

At 23 years of age, the Frenchman has already shown signs of potentially becoming a top-notch player moving forward. A potential move to Liverpool can be his next big step towards becoming a world-class player under Klopp’s coaching.

With Liverpool’s strong relationship with the Red Bull franchise having signed players like Ibrahima Konate and Naby Keita in recent years, it is highly likely that Nkunku might end up at Anfield next summer.

With Liverpool eyeing for big trophies, Klopp will require depth in attacking positions. A speedy and crafty forward like Nkunku will be a far better option than the current substitutes availabel.
