Liverpool have lost their three key players before Dubai Super Cup. With only a few days to go for their first friendly match against Lyon, the Reds face an injury crisis.
Injury crisis before Dubai Super Cup
Kelleher, Curtis Jones, and Luis Diaz did not take part in yesterday’s training session.
Diaz and Jones are on the way to a comeback as they are on the verge of recovery from their respective injuries. Naby Keita took part in today’s session and, looks almost fit for the upcoming fixture. Despite all the injuries, the LFC clan looks sharp before the upcoming match.
All eye on Merseyside Giants
The Reds’ first match will be against Olympique Lyonnais at the Al-Maktoum Stadium in Dubai Super Cup. Klopp has a good pool of candidates to pick up even though Henderson, Fabinho, and Virgil van Dijk remain in Qatar for the World Cup.
A bunch of 33 players is ready to encounter the French side which includes Salah, Thiago Alcantara, and Andrew Robertson. Darwin Nunez is not expected to be a part of the team despite Uruguay being knocked out of the World Cup.
Time for the youths to shine
The German genius is looking to start youngsters which include Ben Doak, Melkamu, Frauendrof, and Stefan Bajcetic. This could be a blessing for the young players to prove themselves and find a place in starting lineup in the near future. The red half of Merseyside has a history of transforming their youths into legends. Gerrard is a key example of that.
Dubai Super Cup will test The Reds for their upcoming season in Premier League and Champions League. Lyon are currently struggling at the moment as they stand 8th in French Division 1.
