Fulham boss, Marco Silva lauded two Liverpool players, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Alexis Mac Allister after yesterday’s scintillating match, which the Reds won.
The Reds were matched goal-to-goal by the London side till the 80th minute. However, to everyone’s surprise, Fulham scored what was supposedly the winner in the 80th minute.
But the Reds equalised as Wataru Endo’s brilliant strike into the top corner helped Liverpool secure an equaliser.
Not a minute later, Trent scored a worldie as he smashed the ball from the edge of the box to secure all three points for Klopp’s team.
Silva praises world-class Trent and Mac Allister goals in Liverpool win
After what was a great spectacle at Anfield, Marco Silva was full of praise for Trent and Mac Allister’s goals.
While speaking to Fulham’s official website, Marco Silva reflected on a thrilling 90 minutes of football at Anfield.
“This afternoon, the way they scored the goals, the first two were world-class – a free-kick and that great, great goal from Mac Allister.
It’s not easy to do something against these types of situations. These goals aren’t something that happen often. They didn’t create much, apart from the two goals first half, we didn’t give them much space behind our backline.”
After taking the lead for the first time through Bobby De Cordova-Reid, Fulham believed they had bagged the 3 points.
However, Klopp’s substitution proved to be helpful as he brought on Endo, who cancelled the lead for Liverpool.
Although the Reds weren’t at their best, Klopp could be happy about their fighting spirit. Moreover, Trent is currently at the top of his game as he scored at Etihad as well. It earned the Reds a draw against the Champions.
The Merseysiders now sit in second place after Manchester City drew with Tottenham Hotspurs. They are just 2 points off of first-place Arsenal and face Sheffield United next week.
