Although Liverpool were very close to becoming the first English team to win the quadruple in the previous season, but still the majority of football pundits do rank City ahead of the Reds in the Premier League.

At one end, Liverpool’s lethargic display eventually resulted in dropping the points on the first Matchday. On the other hand, the Champions Manchester City looked comfortable in their 2-0 victory against West Ham.
However, many football pundits were grading Liverpool to be on level terms with the Citizens. As Jurgen Klopp’s Reds did turn out to be victorious against Pep’s troop in the Community Shield. But it looks like many have lost faith in Liverpool after their draw against The Cottagers.
While the race for the title has just begun and everyone is aware of the long journey. As Premier League is all about a topsy-turvy ride. Football pundits predicts where Liverpool will finish in the 2022-23 Premier League
Jamie Carragher, a former Reds player and Sky Sports personality, chose his old team over City thanks to Virgil van Dijk.
Carragher said
“Liverpool because of Virgil van Dijk. Every time he’s been fit and at his best Liverpool have got mid-90 points.
Last season he was coming back from that cruciate injury. From Christmas onwards when he was back to his best, Liverpool looked a completely different team.

Another Everton supporter who believes City will win again is BBC Sport‘s Phil McNulty, who predicts Liverpool will finish second.
While Rio Ferdinand, a former player for Manchester United, added his support for Klopp’s team as runner-up in an interview with the Mirror.
Interestingly, OptaJoe stated that Liverpool were the favourites to win the championship, with their prediction giving the Reds over a 50% chance of success.
According to FourFourTwo, Liverpool will once more have to content itself with serving as City’s bridesmaid.
There is little doubt that the majority believes that City will win, but the Daily Mail also predicts that Klopp’s team will place second.
