Liverpool and the rival PL clubs qualified for the knockout stages of the Europa League along with Scottish side Rangers as they learn their next opponents.

Liverpool, Brighton, and West Ham watched closely as they saw the UEL draw being completed on Monday. Moreover, the three English clubs weren’t a part of the draw in Switzerland. They topped their respective groups, earning them direct passage to the last 16.

The draw focused on the 8 teams who finished 2nd in every group and the 8 teams which finished 3rd in the Champions League group stages. Now, the winners in each of these clashes will make their way to face the qualified teams.

Rangers and the 3 English clubs would be waiting as the Scottish side topped their group.

Liverpool wait to face their next Europa League opponents

The new play-off system has been introduced since the 21/22 season. However, teams that finished at the top of their Europa League group would enter the last 32 of the competition.

Additionally, the runners-up of the group and the 3rd-placed Champions League teams would join them.

However, the system has now been changed to add an extra reward for the group winners.

AC Milan, from the Champions League group this season, finished 3rd at the expense of Newcastle. The Magpies finished last despite their brilliant start to their UCL campaign. They exited the competition along with Manchester United, who continue their miserable campaign.

Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho’s Roma would face the Dutch side, Feyenoord. Furthermore, the in-form team in the PL, Aston Villa, are also waiting for their next fixture as they topped their Europa Conference League group.
