Liverpool after winning the FA Cup and Manchester City after winning the Premier League will now face each other for the Community Shield.

Liverpool had a fantastic season and were very close to getting the quadruple but managed to win only 2 trophies and now they have a chance to win another trophy as they lock horns with the Champions of England.

Moreover, the Reds have won the Community Shield 15 times and the last time they won the Community Shield, was back in 2006 when they beat Chelsea. It will be the first time for Jurgen Klopp if the Merseyside club manages to beat Manchester City once again.

As the players are on an international break and doing their duty for their respective nations, this match will be played after the break.

Community Shield: Liverpool vs Manchester City

The Football Association Community Shield is an annual contest in which the Premier League champion play against the FA Cup champion at the Wembley Stadium to win the Community Shield and this year Liverpool will face Manchester City.

However, this year the match will not be played at the Wembley because Women’s Euro 2022 will also be held at the Wembley at the same weekend.

Thus, the match between the Reds and the Sky Blues will be played at King Power Stadium which is also the home to the Premier League team Leicester City and the Stadium holds a capacity of only 32,000 people.

Usually, when such big games take place the capacity of the Stadium in which the match is held is very big and the capacity of Wembley is 90,000 so the demand for the tickets will be very high as there are only 32,000 seats.

The match will be played on 30th July 2022 after the group stages of the UEFA Nations League have ended and all the players have returned to kick start their new season.
