Carlo Ancelotti has spoken about the speculations relating to the potential move of Xabi Alonso by the end of the season.
Carlo Ancelotti Sees Xabi Alonso as Future Real Madrid Manager
The Champions League-winning Real Madrid boss thinks that the Bayer Leverkusen gaffer has the ability to manage Los Blancos.
In a recent press conference, Ancelotti stated,
“Xabi Alonso? He can be a future Real Madrid manager, without a doubt.
He can do this job, he has all the qualities to be a good manager. I like him and how he coaches his team. He’s one of the managers I like the most.”
The Madrid Connection
Carlo Ancelotti was supposed to leave Santiago Bernabeu in 2024 to coach Brazil. But he changed his mind and signed a contract extension till 2026.
Alonso, a former Red, has also played for the Madrid side in his career. In fact, he had played under the Italian manager at Real.
Thus, the Real Madrid connection is pretty strong, adding to the suspense of the potential move.
The Managerial Drama at Liverpool
As Jurgen Klopp announced in January that he would part ways with Liverpool by the end of the season, the footballing world suffered a major shock.
But the Reds fans and the management are in bigger distress as the vacant manager role needs to be filled in immediately and effectively.
The task of appointing someone who will replicate or at least build upon the majestic success of Klopp is quite daunting. But the club is looking good so far in executing this tough job.
The Merseyside giants have identified Xabi Alonso as one of the top candidates to replace the German.
However, a recent report has suggested that the Spaniard has ruled himself out as the frontrunner for the Liverpool job. So, the task of finding the perfect match has become even more complicated.
Although Alonso is not completely out of the equation, the task of convincing him would be difficult.
