Breaking: Liverpool receives a major boost with Diaz back at the training ground ahead of Man United clash

Luis Diaz is back in the training squad after a long-term injury and the Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is confident that he can play a big part in the end-game of the season.

Diaz continued his recovery from a long-term injury with a gym session at the AXA Training Center. But the Colombian forward is on his way to put his electrifying feets back on the turf.

The Liverpool forward was injured back in October against Arsenal. Since then he has been sidelined from any action. After recovering from that injury the Reds number 23 again got a knock during training and he was back on the injury list again after just a couple of training sessions. Thus, Diaz also missed his international duty with Colombia in the Qatar World Cup.

The 26-year-old has played 8 matches in the Premier League where he scored 3 goals and gave 2 assists. He has an xG of 0.26 and a xAg of 0.15.

Diaz’s introduction brings optimism to the Reds clan. The Merseyside giants are struggling to compete for the top 4 spot and the inclusion of the Colombian could regain the strength that the former Premier League champions are lacking in the final third.

Klopp on injury of Luis Diaz

In the pre-match press conference, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp said

“There is no time for being patient but you have to be patient.”

He further added

“We will see, but I am positive about him and that he has a good chance to have a real impact in 10,11,12 games maybe- we will see how long exactly it takes.

It is estimated maybe that he is warming up with the team next week, and maybe a week later being in team training- that would be cool. But you always have to wait.

Today I saw an intense session, with a lot of changes in direction and stuff like this. If there is no reaction, they can make the next step and then he is too far away.”
