Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen has hinted that he wants to sign Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz, with Liverpool also interested in the youngster.

While speaking to journalist Kerry Hau, he was affirmative when asked about Bayerns’ efforts to sign Wirtz.

“We’ll see.”

He responded

Apart from the German giants, there are other European giants in line for the 20-year-old’s signature. The likes of Manchester City, Liverpool are a few.

Moreover, Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano broke the news of Liverpool’s interest for Wirtz, back in March. It now seems like the young star could be primed for a mega-money move in 2024.

Klopp could start ‘amazing’ 19-year-old for Liverpool vs Bournemouth: Report

Bayern and Liverpool in the race for Florian Wirtz

With all the speculation of Liverpool interested in the German, Bayern could be the frontrunners.

This however, could open doors for a Liverpool transfer for Jamal Musiala the next year, who is also a Liverpool target.

But should that be off the cards, Bayern would become even stronger with two of the world’s most-exciting youngsters in their team.

Moreover, the German might be inclined to stay in his own country as everyone knows, playing for Bayern only increases your chances of selected for the national squad.

As for Liverpool, they would be happy with either of the young players entering their squad.

Jamail Musiala has had stints at England and had a choice to represent either England or Germany. He eventually chose Germany and has excelled ever since for his national side.

Liverpool to sell Mo Salah after ‘huge’ Saudi Pro League update?

He might be interested in a move back to the UK with European giants, Liverpool. Or he might wish to cement his place in the German national squad by choosing to stay at Bayern.

All being said, the new era of young footballers is looking exciting and 2024 is already looking to be a big year. With more quality in youngsters, one could only hope for a bright future.
