Wayne Rooney Names England Player That Gareth Southgate Should’ve Taken To Euros 2024!

Amidst reviews from outside the England camp after the Three Lions’ slow start to Euros 2024, Wayne Rooney believes that Jordan Henderson should have been included by Gareth Southgate in 26-man squad for the Euros 2024.

The former Manchester United and England international made a bold claim after England slumped to a 1-1 draw against Denmark on matchday 2 of group C.

While some perspective is required on this situation, England are currently top of their table in the Euros 2024 and best placed to move forward to progress as the winners of the group and move forward with the round of 16, with Serbia and Slovenia having major performance issues in their teams.

Wayne Rooney Believes Jordan Henderson Should Have Been In Euro 2024 Squad Of Southgate!

Jordan Henderson, who succeeded Steven Gerrard as the captain of Liverpool in 2015, captained the Reds to a Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup, Club World Cup, and UEFA Super Cup, as well as the first Premier League of the Reds in the last 30 years.

Because of Henderson’s Leadership experience, Wayne Rooney suggests that Henderson would have been the perfect character in the England Squad for the Euros.

While Harry Kane, the current captain, is a calm and subtle figurehead, says that Jordan Henderson’s vocal leadership would have brought better results for the Three Lions and while speaking with the BBC, he had this to say:

“You want to go and press the ball, you need voices behind. So Harry needs voices behind to tell them to keep it one way and obviously what you’ve worked on.

And I said before the tournament, I think I would have taken Jordan, because you haven’t got that experience in the middle of the pitch. But he’s also a voice. Harry’s not the most vocal, and he doesn’t speak as much as he probably should.”

The former Merseyside captain has been left out of the Euro 2024 squad, after an unsuccessful stint at Al-Ettifaq.

However, Henderson currently plays for Ajax, the Reds could probably hope for the return of Jordan Henderson for The Three Lions in the foreseeable future.
