Sky Sports reporter says Liverpool fans should be worried after revealing FSG’s future plan

According to Dharmesh Sheth of Sky Sports, Liverpool supporters may be worried about FSG’s possible investment in the team while it is up for sale.

Sheth points out to some Liverpool plans for FSG

FSG had owned the club for more than ten years when it was placed up for sale. FSG has hired Mike Gordon internally to assist with the club’s sale process. It is in an effort to locate a reasonable buyer.

The American was the third-largest owner in FSG before RedBird Capital’s investment in April 2021. And he previously had a significant influence in extending the contract of manager Jurgen Klopp.

The same source claims that the American owners, who paid £300 million for the team in October 2010, would want to sell it for about £4 billion.

Dharmesh Sheth also thinks that while the club’s owners are trying to sell it, Liverpool supporters could be worried about the near future.

Sheth:

“I think this is what Liverpool fans would be worried about a little bit, is that are FSG looking to sell or just bring in investment to compete with the likes of Man City and the up-and-coming Newcastle United?”

Klopp would probably have been expecting some January acquisitions before FSG placed the club up for sale. It is in an effort to at least guarantee a top-four Champions League spot for the upcoming season after having a lackluster start to the season.

The Reds are presently in the sixth position in the Premier League. They are 15 points behind league-leaders Arsenal and seven points behind fourth-place Tottenham Hotspur.

Even though FSG is aware that the club’s participation in the Champions League will probably increase the price that they can get for the club when they decide to sell it. It seems unlikely that they will be willing to spend a significant sum of money on transfers. Especially in the upcoming January transfer market.

Because of this, Liverpool supporters may be hopeful that a buyer is found for the team soon. So that Klopp will have support in the summer transfer market before the 2023–24 season.
