While all Liverpool fans would be hoping that Salah is back for the game against Leicester City this Friday, there’s a chance that Salah’s long-awaited return from the AFCON might be delayed.
Mo Salah played four extra-time games in the last twelve days. While Egypt failed to win the AFCON, Salah played almost every single minute of the tournament.
Salah set to miss the game against Leicester
The 29-year-old wasn’t only the best player for Egypt but was also an inspiration for his country many times in the tournament. Egypt may have scored only four goals in the AFCON, but the Liverpool star had a hand in three of them.
While Klopp would want both Sadio Mane and Mo Salah to play against Leicester and hit the ground running, it doesn’t look possible.
If Klopp does end up playing the Egyptian, there is a high chance of Salah getting injured. Liverpool cannot afford to lose their talisman right now.
Sadio Mane on the other hand also played all but 20 minutes for his country Senegal. Mane, whose country Senegal were crowned the champions of Africa, also won the player of the tournament.
In relation to his Kloop said,
I have to talk to them, I don’t know.If they have one thing, they have rhythm! They’ve played obviously quite a few games. We will see, I have to speak to them then
However, Liverpool should not miss them a lot, if they are rested for the Leicester game. Klopp’s acting options are much healthier now and they also managed without them during the AFCON.
Klopp currently not only has their newest signing Luis Diaz, but Harvey Elliot has also returned. Meanwhile, Diogo Jota is in form, while Roberto Firmino and Takumi Minamino are also available. Divock Origi might also be back for the game against Leicester City.
