Virgil’s injury is a major blow for the Merseyside giants. They are currently in the sixth position of the Premier League table. The Dutch international is currently consulting a specialist for his hamstring injury, while his day of return is still unknown.

Milan Skriniar to Liverpool?

The English giants cannot afford any loss in this crucial stage of the PL. Thus, the Reds are keen on signing Inter Milan star defender Skriniar to reinforce their baclkline.

According to Inter Live, Liverpool could immediately move in to sign the Slovakian defender from Inter Milan. The Italian news source has mentioned that the Merseyside giants could ask the Nerazzurri for a swift sale with a bid of around €40M.

Skriniar is one of the best center-back in Serie A. He has won the major domestic title with the Inter Milan side and is considered as the most crucial and influential player for the Italian giants.

A few days ago, the Inter Milan center-back captained Simone Inzaghi’s side against the Serie A league leader Napoli. Napoli, who were the only European team undefeated from the start of the season but got knocked down by II Biscione.

The Reds next move?

The Reds are in desperate need to maintain their backline. But at the same time €40M should be considered very high keeping in mind that the center-back’s contract at San Siro will expire in six months.

LFC have currently solved their attacking lineup by signing another Dutch international Cody Gakpo. The Merseyside giants have other important issues to address than the backline. Midfield being one of them.
