With the next season already in sight, Liverpool and Nike have gone a step further and are already signing off on early designs for 2024/25.
The Reds unveiled their home kit for the next season earlier this month. It has a red-and-white design which is a homage to the kit worn during the club’s first-ever FA Cup victory in 1995. It is said to be released on May 18.
Klopp’s side are said to debut their new kit in their final home game of this season. They would be hosting Aston Villa on May 20, while designs for the away and third kits have now leaked.
Nike planning on Liverpool kit designs for 2024/25
With the process of designing, finalising, and manufacturing, completed already, the Reds along with Nike are already planning for kits for the 2024/25 campaign.
As per Footy Headlines, planned colourways for the home, away and third kits, including a throwback to a cult favourite from the late 2000s have been made.
The home kit is expected to be a darker red with yellow-gold detailing. This suggests that it will be similar to that worn during the title-winning 2019/20 season.
The away kit was initially rumoured to be grey and red with white detailing. But that has now been updated to ecru, red and black.
Meanwhile, the third kit is rumoured to be blue-green, with black and white accents. It would be a likely recreation of the famous Adidas third kit of 2008/09.
This would follow a trend within Nike’s designs for Liverpool in incorporating elements of popular kits from the club’s past.
For example, next season the home kit is similar to the one in 1965. Also, the expected green-and-white away kit looks set to throwback to 1994/95.
It would surely be a hit among the Liverpool faithful as the kit is a cult classic. It surely reminds us of the times of Gerrard, Alonso, Mascherano, and Carragher at the club.
