Yesterday, the match at Anfield between Liverpool & Villarreal was Liverpool’s 12th European Cup semi-final and the Reds have put their first step to reach their 9th final. Liverpool are looking very strong and they dominated the game at home last night.

Liverpool had a good game last night against Villarreal and completely dominated for 90 minutes giving almost no chance for Villarreal to score, let’s have a look at the player ratings.

Goalkeepers and Defenders

Alisson Becker (GK) – 7/10

The Brazillian Keeper pretty much was not part of the game completely last night as he had only 9 touches in the first half.

After 72 minutes he came out of the box which was the major contribution last night that he was supposed to do last night.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB) – 7.5/10

He had a decent game last night and was trying to attack in the first half which irritated the Reds. The defender was not tested last night.

He delivered some crosses in the second half and one cross was almost converted into a goal by Mohamed Salah.

Ibrahima Konate (CB) 8/10

This player has impressed a lot and is in a good form as he scored in his last 2 games in the UCL. Last night also, his performance for the Reds was good

He made some crucial tackles last night and one tackle came up when the defenders were really tested.

Virgil van Dijk (CB) – 7/10

The Dutchman was booked in the first half as he tried to break a counterattack which could have been lethal.

Also, he almost scored from a long distance but the rest of his game was quite basic.

Andy Robertson (LB) – 8/10

He started the game with a lot of energy and made some good runs and it seemed like the Scottsman was available all the time.

Moreover, he also scored a goal which was denied due to offside.

Midfielders

Fabinho (CDM) – 8.5/10

The first half was not going as the Brazillian would have wanted as he missed some passes.

In the second half, he scored a header but then again the goal was denied due to offside and his game got improved as he won more challenges for the Reds.

Jordan Henderson (CM) – 8.5/10

The performance of the skipper was quite decent last night as he was very energetic in the field and pretty much did not do anything wrong.

Furthermore, he provided a cross which got deflected and went into the net and captain Hendo tried taking credit for the goal but it was given as an own goal.

Thiago Alacantara (CM) – 9.5/10

The Spanish showed exactly why was he signed by the Reds and his performance yesterday was absolutely world-class. He almost scored a beauty from outside the box which hit the crossbar.

Therefore, for his amazing performance last night he was presented with the man of the match award.

Forwards

Mohamed Salah (RW) – 8.5/10

Having a player like him is always an advantage for the Reds and last night the performance of the Egyptian was brilliant.

He provided 2-3 balls to Mane and one ball was also converted into a goal which helped Liverpool have a 2 goal cushion.

Sadio Mane (ST) – 9/10

Had a few good chances in the match but was unable to convert them but finally scored a goal due to the courtesy of Mohamed Salah who provided a beautiful pass.

Therefore, His goal helped Liverpool to claim the match.

Luis Diaz (LW) – 8.5/10

The pace and the skill of the Colombian always help the team and he won one-on-ones yesterday creating some good opportunities for the Merseyside club.

However, he did not get to complete the full match and was subbed out.

Substitutes

Diogo Jota – 7/10

The Portuguese is always dangerous because of his attacking skills which gives an advantage to the Reds.

Naby Keita – 6.5/10

He did not do anything wrong and neither was dangerous yesterday.

Had a quiet game yesterday and completed the passes.

Joe Gomez – NA

Played as a right-back and did not do much.

Divock Origi – NA

He is known as a super-sub but did not do anything much yesterday and went unnoticed.
