Liverpool duo Mane and Salah put up great performances in the Africa Cup of Nations to guide their respective teams to the next round.

Sadio Mane’s Senegal saw off a spirited Equatorial Guinea 3-1 to qualify for the semi-finals of the Africa cup of Nations. Mane was in the thick of the action yesterday.

Meanwhile, Salah helped Egypt to clinch a 2-1 victory over Morocco.

Who will Salah and Mane face in the SF of Africa cup of Nations ?

For many, the Liverpool forward Sadio Mane was the man of the match of the game. Not only did he assist Famara Diedhiou’s opener, but also created the most chances in the match (3). (stats taken from Fotmob).

He also completed the most dribbles(4) in the match and won the most duels (9) in the match. So far, this was His best performance in the Africa Cup of Nations. This is after getting a concussion in his last match and playing against Liverpool’s wishes!

Senegal are considered one of the favourites to win the Africa cup of Nations and are living up to that name with their recent performances.

Mohamed Salah also put up a brilliant performance for Egypt against Morocco. He got involved in both of Egypt’s goals, scoring first and then assisting.

He turned out to be very difficult to deal with last night. The forward made PSG fullback Achraf Hakimi’s life very difficult and also created the most chances (4) in the game.

The Egyptian also contributed with four key passes and was only dispossessed once. (stats taken from Fotmob)

Mane’s Senegal now faces Burkina Faso in the semi-final, while Salah’s Egypt faces Cameroon on 2nd & 3rd Feb respectively.

It was amazing to see both Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah perform so well in the Africa cup of nations. Having been criticised for not playing their best, both stepped up when needed.

If Salah and Mane do end up going all the way in the AFCON, then they may not join the Liverpool squad as soon as previously expected.

If they do end up going all the way, they will miss the FA Cup game against Cardiff City and can be a doubt for the Leicester game too.
