Liverpool have made significant strides in strengthening their youth academy with the addition of summer signings, and among them, Amara Nallo has been particularly impressive.
Nallo, who joined from West Ham, has surprised many with his performance, defying his age of just 16.
Similarly, Trey Nyoni, who came from Leicester, has made a name for himself with Liverpool’s U18s, showcasing his talent with four goals and three assists in five games.
Nallo, a tall and composed left-sided center-back, has started the last four games for Liverpool U21s, impressing against various youth teams as well as senior opponents like Blackpool.
Liverpool U21s coach Barry Lewtas commended Nallo’s performance, acknowledging that it’s rare to see a 16-year-old excel in a central defensive role against senior opponents.

Lewtas also praised Carter Pinnington, another 16-year-old player thrust into the U21s setup, showing faith in their abilities.
“Amara was excellent,”
Lewtas told the club’s official website.
“Him and Carter Pinnington have been playing quite regularly for us so far together.
Listen, he is just 16, and I don’t think we’ve ever asked a lad that young to play at centre-back against senior opposition.
He should be really proud of his performance.
I think the main thing for Amara is he played ever so well but he didn’t let any kind of mistakes or momentum shifts in the game affect him.
So he didn’t play like a 16-year-old, that’s for sure.”
The future looks promising for these young talents, with Jarell Quansah paving the way for Liverpool’s next generation of center-backs aiming to break into the first team, although it may take some time before Nallo and Pinnington are entrusted with such responsibilities.
