Liverpool links with Bayern Munich star Benjamin Pavard have surfaced a few times and the latest reports about his signing are positive.
Earlier this month, Christian Falk through CaughtOffside reported that the Reds are in talks with the French international. He wrote in his column,
“Benjamin Pavard has informed the club (Bayern Munich) that he wants to move in the summer.
His agents are already talking to other clubs. Among them, Liverpool is now a hot candidate.
Previously, Chelsea and Barcelona were already known to be interested, as well as Italian clubs AC and Inter Milan.”
Also, German media outlet BILD revealed the Merseysiders’ interest in the Les Bleus star. They also said that Bayern would demand a transfer fee of €30M.
Benjamin Pavard: New Liverpool signing?
A new report yesterday via Calcio Mercato Web claimed that the French defender’s move to Anfield is imminent.
The Italian media outlet reported that Liverpool are ready to close a deal with the 27-year-old from the Bavarians. Meanwhile, the report also included that Inter Milan have Pavard on their radar.
The Nerazzuri have been looking for a replacement for Dumfries, whose future at San Siro looks pretty uncertain.
However, CMW claims that the Anfield giants are already ready with the proposal that will secure the deal for Jurgen Klopp.
Pavard has always been a special player. He was an integral part of the 2018 French national team which went on to win the World Cup.
He also scored a screamer against Argentina that won him the Goal of the Tournament award in the same competition.
The 27-year-old won almost every major title with the German side. Last season he helped the team to keep 18 clean sheets and had 8 goal contributions.
Pavard is a versatile defender who is naturally a right-back. However, he has also been featured as a centre-back and has been pretty solid there.
If Liverpool secures the deal then this signing could actually help Klopp in the defensive unit.
An ardent football fan and a proud Red. I take immense pleasure in analyzing the intricacies of the game.
