Liverpool plan to swoop two £75million+ midfield options

After ending their pursuit of Jude Bellingham, Liverpool are on the watch for a number of quality players to improve their midfield.

Jurgen Klopp believes that the squad needs multiple signings to reinforce the midfield department.

According to the Guardian, the Reds are looking to lure both Alexis Mac Allister and Moises Caicedo from the Seagulls.

The South American duo is on the radar of numerous clubs for the upcoming transfer window. The reason being their exceptional performances this season.

No Liverpool midfielder has been able to consistently perform in Jurgen Klopp’s system this season. Perhaps, they may still be worn out from playing in every game last year. Sadly, their best defensive midfielder Fabinho has also been performing poorly.

Liverpool plotting a raid on Brighton for midfield signings

Therefore, a player like Caicedo who is excellent in pressing and breaking play can be the idle signing for the Reds.

Caicedo has been one of the best midfielders in the Premier League this season. The South American has been a consistent pressing machine for the Seagulls, who are fighting for European places.

He was heavily linked with a move to league leaders, Arsenal, in the winter transfer window. However, Brighton managed to hold on to him and extended his stay until 2027.

Then again, the Merseysiders need goalscoring midfielders. At Anfield, no midfielder has consistently been able to directly contribute to goals.

Thiago, Fabinho, and Henderson have not even scored a single goal this season. A star player like Mac Allister who has directly contributed to 12 goals would significantly enhance that department.

According to a recent report by Mirror Sport, the Ecuadorian international and the World Cup-winning star will both cost around £75 million.

To secure both the signings above, Liverpool may have to pay a combined fee of £150 million.
