24-Year-Old Brazilian Midfielder Likely To Be Liverpool’s First Signing Under Slot
As per several reports Liverpool have made contact with agents of Atalanta midfielder Ederson and have reportedly made a bid of 45 million euros for the Brazilian.
Ederson, who had a fantastic season with Atalanta, looks to be on the radar of many top clubs this summer.
Ederson Heading To Liverpool?
Several reports have emerged in the last few days linking Ederson to Liverpool. Fabrizio Romano on his YouTube channel yesterday revealed,
“What I’m hearing at the moment is Atalanta have not received any official bid for Ederson yet. It is also true that Liverpool made contact with the agents of Ederson recently to understand about the situation of the player. It doesn’t mean Ederson is going to Liverpool or it’s close or advanced or a done deal. But they are exploring the market before deciding which player they will go for and which player they will not go for.”
Ederson At Atalanta
Ederson primarily a defensive midfielder joined Atalanta in the summer of 2022 and has made 90 appearances for Atalanta in two seasons at the club.
Ederson’s performances this season for Atalanta helped them lift their first-ever Europa League title, Atalanta also finished 4th in this season’s Serie A.
Liverpool do have a solid CDM in Wataru Endo, but Slot with the way he makes his team play could use a player like Ederson.
Ederson’s defensive qualities as a midfielder, his intensive pressing skills, and his ability to play box-to-box can be a great addition to the Liverpool squad.
His performance against Liverpool in this season’s Europa League quarterfinal definitely caught the eyes of Liverpool fans.
It doesn’t look like a busy transfer window for Liverpool in terms of incomings, but certainly, one or two players should come in.
