Liverpool FC have reportedly ‘requested information’ on exciting young Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Georgiy Sudakov who is being monitored by several top clubs.
A challenging time is coming for the Reds as Jurgen Klopp has decided to leave the club after 9 successful years.
Undoubtedly one of if not the best managers of this generation, Klopp has brought immense success to Anfield.
But every good thing must come to an end, so the club’s higher authority has already started to take the necessary steps to ensure the club continues to thrive.
Many names have already surfaced up as the successor of the German tactician but no concrete developments have been reached yet.
However, the team has to continue to grow despite who takes charge as the next boss. Therefore the Merseysiders are currently exploring options to expand the squad.
Liverpool Eyeing Georgiy Sudakov
As Michael Edwards returned to Anfield as CEO of football and Richard Hughes joined as sporting director, LFC are now working on full throttle to steer the ship through these tough times.
According to reports, the Merseysiders are one of the clubs who have ‘requested information’ on Georgiy Sudakov.
Renowned scout Ben Mattinson has suggested that Sudakov is ‘the latest top talent they’ve produced and he may be one of their best’ as he possesses ‘quality ball-striking’ and ‘technical ability’. He has also been described as ‘press resistance’.
The 21-year-old is an attacking-midfielder who has been making waves at Shakhtar Donetsk as he has made 25 appearances across all competitions, scoring 5 times and assisting twice (stats via Transfermarkt).
The midfielder could be the next big thing to come out of the Ukrainian side after Mykhaylo Mudryk, who joined Chelsea in 2022.
However, the reportedly hefty price tag of €100M could become a big issue for the Reds as they seek to secure players with great potential at lower prices.
Additionally, the number of midfield players already fighting for their place would unnecessarily increase which the club would definitely not want.
The coming summer has a lot to unpack for Liverpool and it would be interesting to see how this transfer frenzy unfolds.
An ardent football fan and a proud Red. I take immense pleasure in analyzing the intricacies of the game.
