Liverpool are now in talks with West Ham United to sign their academy prodigy 16-year-old centre-back Amara Nallo. The youngster is expected to join soon.
The Reds have been facing a shortage of quality defenders since the last season. Whenever Virgil Van Djik or Ibrahima Konate have been out of the team, Joel Matip or Joe Gomez have replaced them.
However, they have not been able to provide the output in comparison with Van Djik or Konate.
And as Klopp will be playing a 3-2-2-3 formation in the upcoming season, the Anfield giants need a center-back signing, preferably a left-footed player.
The Merseysiders are prioritizing signing a midfielder, most likely Romeo Lavia. The club has already spent around £100M for Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.
Moreover, if they sign Lavia, their net spend could reach upto £150M this summer. And in this situation, Fabrizio Romano’s latest update has arrived with a new transfer rumour.
Fabrizio posted an update on his Twitter that confirmed that Liverpool are pursuing Amara as negotiations are currently ongoing.
Liverpool to pounce upon young defender Amara Nallo
The English defender joined the West Ham academy as a part of a full-time scholarship contract alongside 11 other young talents.
Former West Ham striker and current U-16 coach of the Hammers, Carlton Cole praised Amara by saying,
“I would describe Amara as a Rolls Royce of a centre-back. He has a great left foot and is elegant when he moves with the ball.
He can play the ball with both feet and has been working on his heading as well. He’s a player who has a high ceiling.”
He has already played two games for West Ham U-18 team in the U-18 PL. The Hammers are known for producing promising talented players and the 2006-born defender is definitely one of them.
Although there have been talks of signing a defender like Benjamin Pavard, Levi Colwill, and others, the club might not sign one this season.
But the young Englishman is not that exact signing, however, he can become the player in the coming years that Klopp desires now.
An ardent football fan and a proud Red. I take immense pleasure in analyzing the intricacies of the game.
