The Italian says that Liverpool may now start looking for a backup goalkeeper. The reason being many clubs want to sign Kelleher on loan because the Irishman wants more playing time.
Since this is a new development, the Reds have not yet been linked to many potential backup options for Alisson Becker.

Given that Crystal Palace are content with Vicente Guaita, Sam Johnstone, and Joe Whitworth as their options, the Athletic believes that Butland will leave when his contract expires in July.

The Bristol-born gloves man is a solid, dependable presence between the sticks. He has nine caps for England and has made 87 Premier League appearances.
Also to make things even better, Butland should be available for free as said before. In truth, Liverpool should effectively be attempting to acquire Butland if they are to loan Kelleher out.
At the age of 24, the Republic of Ireland international needs experience. Therefore, Liverpool should loan him out rather than keeping him on the bench.
