Renato Sanches to Liverpool

PSG have reportedly already ‘agreed personal terms’ with Liverpool midfield target, Manuel Ugarte and seem to be willing to pay his £52m release clause.

It has been a terrific season for the Uruguayan and has attracted quite a lot of clubs’ attention. He has the most tackles and has won the most duels in Primeira Liga this season.

Due to these amazing stats, Klopp had his eyes on the 22-year-old along with other suitors as well. Moreover, the Reds had sent scouts to watch the midfielder in action, earlier this month.

However, with the news breaking out that the French clubs are leading in the race to sign the player, Liverpool are now set to be looking at other options. Klopp is believed to have plenty of other targets to fall back on, and one more may now have moved up the list.

Klopp had been keeping tabs on the PSG midfielder, Renato Sanches and Liverpool could be interested in him. The Portuguese is struggling for game time currently at PSG and he would be looking for a move elsewhere. He has started just 5 league matches for the Paris club all season.

Liverpool could go for Renato Sanches from PSG

Renato has had a brief experience in the English top division while his time at Swansea. However, it was seen more as a failed attempt of regaining his form. He was a shadow of his former self and received some harsh reviews from critics and fans alike.

But that doesn’t detract from a long-standing interest in the Portugal international from multiple Premier League clubs. As per 90min, Liverpool are right in the mix along with Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Tottenham.

Moreover, many top-quality midfielders are finding it hard to get regular game time at PSG. Big names like Marco Verratti, Fabian Ruiz, and Vitinha are some of them. Also, with the imminent signing of Ugarte, many would consider leaving if the right offer arrives. Liverpool could take advantage of the situation and go for these star players.

However, Sanches is said to be a long-time target for the Reds and he arrived from Lille after a disappointing spell at Bayern. The French club acquired him in a mere £12.5m transfer, after rediscovering his form at Lille.

Now in his second season with the club, he still has 4 years in his contract. But the Reds could get him to move to Anfield if they meet the club’s expectations.

The Reds are said to have completed the signing of Mac Allister. However, one midfield signing is insufficient as more than 2 midfielders are leaving Liverpool this summer. Sanches could be a good option as he is known for his technical ability and dynamism in the middle of the park. Under Klopp, he could be his old self and help Liverpool compete in every competition.
