Liverpool has created a shortlist of four players to add to their midfield in the upcoming two transfer windows.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Reds defender Joe Gomez will be available for the weekend clash against Tottenham Hotspurs.

The Anfield giants are in fine form this season. They have already won 7 consecutive matches in this 2023-24 season.

And the win last night against Leicester City in the EFL Cup extended their unbeaten run of games to 8. With excellent performance, the Merseysiders again made a comeback and secured the victory.

This would definitely boost the team’s confidence to another level before they face Tottenham Hotspurs this Saturday in the PL clash of game week 7.

But the Reds faced some trouble regarding defense last night in the right-back position due to the absence of injured Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez.

However, manager Jurgen Klopp has assured that it would not be the case while facing Spurs.

Klopp assures Gomez will be available for Liverpool vs Tottenham

The Merseyside coach has confirmed that the English defender will feature against the North London side. In the post-match conference after the Leicester match, Klopp said,

“We couldn’t play Stefan [Bajcetic] long, we have to be careful with him. Joey will be OK for the weekend but was not OK for today.

For Trent it is too early. So I needed to find solutions and Curtis was always in my mind as a potential solution there.”

As Gomez was not available, Klopp had to play Curtis Jones in the Right-back position. He lauded his performance by saying,

He is really football smart, he enjoys being on the ball and the deeper you are the more often you can get the ball. It was a top performance, I have to say, for the first time in – for him – a strange position.

He did really well and I liked that a lot. He is in a good moment, so he could probably play each position in the moment. But we will try to use him as often as possible in his natural position.”

Since Trent has been injured, Gomez has been handling the responsibilities at the Right-back position. And his performance so far has been quite remarkable.

So his availability would boost the performance of the Reds even more this weekend against Tottenham.
