Former Liverpool midfielder Arthur Melo has expressed that he has massive respect for the Reds boss Jurgen Klopp and he is like family.

After having a disastrous 2022-23 season, the Merseysiders have quite successfully made a comeback this season. They finished 5th in PL last season, missing out on Champions League football.

And this season they are on a 6-match unbeaten run, hoping to continue the spell. Both last season’s failure and this season’s success can be attributed to the Reds midfield.

The extensive midfield rebuild this summer has impacted their game massively compared to last season.

Jurgen Klopp’s side were unable to fix their midfield the previous season even with the addition of Arthur Melo.

The Juventus loanee joined the club in the summer of 2022 but was majorly out of the pitch due to injury and made only one appearance for LFC.

Even though his time did not go well at the club, he still has love for the English side and his ex-boss.

Arthur respects Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp

Speaking to Spanish newspaper AS, the Brazilian midfielder spoke about his time at Anfield. He stated,

“I was really looking forward to playing in a different championship. Everything was going very well in a great team, but in training I had an injury… It was hard, mentally very hard.

Liverpool has surprised me a lot. The fans are incredible, but within the club everything has Klopp’s face. He is a family.

There is always someone who wants to help others, from the first worker to the president. Klopp as a coach is fantastic and how he manages the team is impressive.”

The 56-year-old German coach is definitely one of the greatest managers of this generation and arguably the best coach Liverpool had.

However, Klopp comes off as a very reliable and a ‘fatherly figure’ as mentioned by Harvey Elliott. And he has that much impact on the team with his communication skills and resonating with players.

So it is very obvious to the LFC manager that his behavior towards everyone is going to be like this.
