Robertson and Shaqiri Reunite After Euro 2024 Showdown!

Robertson and Shaqiri Reunite After Euro 2024 Showdown!

After playing Xherdan Shaqiri at Euro 2024 yesterday, Andy Robertson wrote a note to his former Liverpool teammate.

Following a crushing 5-1 loss to Germany the previous week, Scotland and Andy Robertson were looking to recover.

On Wednesday night, the Liverpool star improved his performance at left-back to help the Scots draw 1-1 with Switzerland.

Scotland will now need to defeat Hungary under Dominik Szoboszlai in their last group match in order to have a chance at moving on to the next round.

Unfortunately, Scotland did not win all three points last night, and Robertson had to deal with Xherdan Shaqiri, a player he knew well.

Shaqiri’s incredible long-range shot ultimately cost the Scots a vital three points, and Robertson has since messaged his former teammate on social media.

After Switzerland’s 1-1 tie with them last night at Euro 2024, Robertson messaged Shaqiri on Instagram.

He wrote:

“Good to see you my roomie.”

Reposting Roberson’s post on his story, Shaqiri responded with an identical comment.

Beyond Liverpool: Shaqiri’s Career Evolution

In the summer of 2021, Shaqiri moved from Liverpool to Lyon, a team in Ligue 1.

The 32-year-old has been playing football in the Major League Soccer (MLS) with Chicago since February 2022, following a brief stint in France.

The Swiss player, who frequently scores memorable goals at important international competitions, was a real liability for Scotland.

Shaqiri has now scored in each of the last three World Cups and European Championships following his performance against the Scots.
