Liverpool Eyeing Brazilian Goalkeeper Sensation After €15 Million Rejection – Alisson’s New Teammate?

Brace yourselves, Reds fans! Liverpool are on the hunt for Brazil’s rising star Bento to strengthen their goalkeeping squad this summer.

Liverpool’s goalkeeper hunts this summer might get quite interesting, especially after recent reports from Brazil. The Reds are eyeing a possible new signing to join Alisson Becker’s ranks.

Now that their third-choice goalkeeper Adrian is set to leave Anfield for a return to his childhood club, Real Betis, Liverpool might be in need of not one but two new goalkeepers.

Adrian was offered a new contract, but he appears to be ready to bid farewell after a five-year stint. But his departure is not the only headache for Liverpool.

Caoimhin Kelleher, the 25-year-old who was Alisson’s reliable understudy, has hinted at a desire to become a first-choice keeper elsewhere.

The Republic of Ireland international made 26 appearances in the 2023-24 season. Now he is hungry for regular game time and might seek opportunities beyond Anfield.

As a potential double exit looms large, Liverpool have to dip into the transfer market for fresh goalkeeping talents. According to reports from GE Globo, the Reds have set their eyes on Brazilian keeper, Bento.

Liverpool Eyeing Alisson’s Successor In Bento

Currently an Athletico Paranaense player, the 25-year-old has already earned two caps for Brazil and even featured in the memorable 1-0 win against England at Wembley in March.

Liverpool are not the only team in this pursuit though. Bento is currently competing with Alisson for Copa America glory in the United States.

Portuguese heavyweights Sporting CP and Benfica are also interested in Bento. Furthermore, Inter Milan had to refocus their attention on Josep Martinez of Genoa when their €15 million bid for Bento was rejected.

Liverpool’s interest in Bento, given the competitive air, suggests a proactive approach to acquire a capable backup or Alisson’s possible successor.

The Brazilian connection might be important as the club could have two goalkeepers from the national team, which could make a strong goalie pair.
