The transfer saga never stops as Liverpool now might be willing to go for Moises Caicedo.

Liverpool to partner Bellingham with Moises Caicedo?

Jude Bellingham is still often mentioned in connection with a transfer to Liverpool. However, a dependable source has now revealed a Brighton midfielder who is reportedly on the Reds’ list of targets with the Englishman.

Bellingham is reportedly up for grabs, with Man City and Real Madrid also interested in signing him. It is according to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg. He said last week that Liverpool and manager Jurgen Klopp are “trying” to get him.

The Borussia Dortmund star was “second to” two South American midfielders on Liverpool’s wish list, according to Plettenberg. And in his most recent update, Plettenberg appears to have verified that one of those players is Moises Caicedo. He is a midfielder for Brighton and Ecuador.

In the summer transfer window, the 21-year-old was involved speculatively with a move to Anfield. It is because Brighton would probably want a high price for one of their key players. Plettenberg continues by saying that Man United are also “planning” to compete for Caicedo. While top personnel at Old Trafford reportedly seemed “very keen.”

A good fit for the Scousers?

Brighton brought in Caicedo in February 2021 from the Ecuadorian team Independiente del Valle. It was after initially being loaned to the Belgian top division team Beerschot for the 2021–22 campaign.

Caicedo was summoned back to his original club in January of this year. It was due to a lack of midfielders, and he has since established himself as a first-team regular.

Caicedo often plays as a more defensive midfielder for Brighton. He has shown off his offensive skills on multiple occasions, netting goals against Man United and Leicester earlier this year. Caicedo won’t be cheap because his contract isn’t up until 2025. And since Liverpool’s strong interest, it seems doubtful that they can finance both Bellingham and Caicedo.
