10 days after being eliminated from the World Cup, Darwin Nunez reunites with the squad in Dubai. The Uruguayan superstar looks fresh and ready for Liverpool’s upcoming fixtures.

Nunez looking for a fresh start in Dubai

Uruguay got eliminated from the group stages despite showcasing a good performance against Ghana. The LFC forward started every match for the South American side but failed to make a huge impact on the World Cup stage. He was expected to be their main man after Suarez and Cavani seemed to have played their last World Cup. His disappointment was quite visible against their last group stage match against the African side.

Thus, Darwin has now changed his focus towards the Merseyside giants. He resumes back to the training field for the Reds. The 23-year-old arrived on Monday with LFC shared his footage of working out alongside Roberto Firmino.

After returning to full training Nunez is expected to get a start against the Italian giants AC Milan.

Darwin Nunez for the Reds so far

This season the Uruguayan forward is trying to settle himself in the Reds squad. So far Nunez has scored 5 goals and 2 assists in 10 matches. Back in the Benfica days, he was a crucial player for the Portuguese side. The forward had scored 26 goals and 4 assists in 28 appearances back in the 2021-22 season.

Meanwhile, Klopp does believe it’s just a matter of time before the Uruguayan superstar hit the ground running. In this second half of the season, the 23-year-old will be looking to make an impact and help the Reds to end up in the top 4.

The English giant’s next match is against AC Milan in Dubai. Nunez’s return boosted the German coach’s morale after Luis Diaz’s unexpected injury.

Alongside the Red’s no 27, Alisson, Fabinho, Virgil van Dijk, Trent, and Jordan Henderson are the five players who got eliminated from the World Cup in the knockout stages. They all are expected to return next week.
