UCL Liverpool vs Atletico Madrid – Player Ratings

Goal Keeper and Defenders

Allison (GK) – 8/10

Alisson had got nothing much to do in both the halves. he handled the pressure situation well especially with the high balls which he dealt it confidently by punching it out of danger. A good game for the Brazilian.

Trent Alexander Arnold (RB) – 9/10 ( Man of the Match)

What a brilliant performance from Liverpool’s no. 66. As his beautiful cross finds Jota for the first and his low driven shot finds Mane for the second. The young right-back had a brilliant game in both attacking and defending.

Joel Matip (CB) – 7/10

He stood strong in the defence along with his partner Virgil Van Dijk. the 10 men Atletico gave Matip the privilege to leave his defensive spot and move to midfield. He missed a close-range shot as he sends it wide.

Virgil Van Dijk (CB) – 7/10

Confident defensive work at the back along with his partner held a strong defence. Fired a rocket from a distance which went over the bar.

Kostas Tsimikas (LB) – 7/10

The Left-back played so well with a lot of good and promising crosses into the box, decent defensive work and he was charging upfront delivering crosses.

Midfielders

Fabinho (CDM) – 8/10

Fabinho comes back to the playing 11 after recovering from a knee injury. the reds were happy to see him and he did what he’s best at, by holding the ball till the midfielders reach their position and playing a dominant role in the midfield and in the defence allowing the defensive backs to join the attack.

Jordan Henderson (CM) – 7/10

The skipper looked comfortable playing in the right flank. Especially connecting with Trent Alexander Arnold and moving up the field. He felt so confident in midfield and he worked hard to do his part.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (CM) – 6/10

A good game for Alex Oxlade Chamberlin as he dribbled past players driving forward. He failed to mark and track his player back leaving Atletico a space to move forward. He was subbed after a knee issue.

Forwards

Mohamed Salah (RW) – 8/10

Salah was brilliant at usual at the right with some incredible movements and touches. Brilliant performance from the Egyptian king saw two of his great attempts saved by Oblak.

Diogo Jota  (CF) – 8/10

Jota’s movent in the field was perfect as he opened up the defence time and time again. He headed home a brilliant header and failed head in the second right before halftime. he improved his touches in the second half and he could have added two more.

Sadio Mane (LW) – 8/10

Mane found himself in battles with the referee and players and he was booked. foul on mane by Felipe saw him getting a red. Mane scored a first touch goal to give Liverpool the second goal of the night. He was subbed during the break.

Subsitutes

Roberto Firmino (CF) – 6/10

Came in for Mane during the break, Showed a decent performance before subbing back with fifteen mins remaining. hoping that there is nothing serious.

Thiago Alcantara (CM) – 6/10

Thiago came in for Fabinho at the 59th minute, A good performance in his first appearance as he recovered from a calf injury.

Takumi Minamino (LW) – N/A

Came in for Alex Oxlade Chamberlain in the 77th minute. didn’t have much impact.

Divok Origi (CF) – N/A

Came in to play the last fifteen minutes as Bobby has to be subbed as he limped off the field.
