Premier League- West Ham v Liverpool: Team news, Injuries & Suspension

Liverpool will travel to London to face West Ham United on Sunday, let’s have a look at the team news.

The Reds continued their winning streak after their emphatic 2-0 victory over Atletico. Goals from Jota and Mane helped Liverpool book their place in the round of 16.

Last weekend, the Reds faced a 2-2 tie by Brighton & Hove Albion, leaving them in second place in the standings, three points behind the leaders Chelsea.

Now, Jurgen Klopp’s side are looking to keep their unbeaten run, as they prepare to face David Moyes’s side. Who all are available for the selection, let’s have a look.

Liverpool vs West Ham- Team News

Injuries

James Milner

James Milner is still out with a hamstring injury, and the veteran is unlikely to return until after the international break. He might be available for the clash against Arsenal on November 20.

Naby Keita

Naby Keita will be “out for a long” with a hamstring ailment, according to Klopp. It is doubtful that the midfielder will be ready to return until 2022.

Harvey Elliot

Harvey Elliott is expected to return to the pitch before the end of the 2021-22 season while continuing to recuperate from a catastrophic ankle injury.

Roberto Firmino

Roberto Firmino suffered a hamstring injury against Atletico Madrid in the champions league fixture. Hence it is still unclear as he may miss the majority of the season.

Curtis Jones

Curtis Jones missed out against Atletico due to an eye injury that he had suffered in training. Therefore, the midfielder remains a doubt for Sunday’s Premier League clash with West Ham.

Joe Gomez

Joe Gomez was absent from the squad against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday owing to a calf injury, and the defender is likely to miss several weeks.

Suspensions

There’s no suspended player for Liverpool.

The injury list is indeed very long, with key players missing, it is yet again a challenging task for Klopp to name his side for the weekend clash. The German won’t face any problem in defence but midfield continues its woes for the Reds. However, with an injury boost of Thiago and Fabinho, Liverpool surely has some relief.
