The Salah and Mane transfer saga – As it Stands

The Salah and Mane transfer saga – As it Stands

Mo Salah and Sadio Mane talks are doing the ‘frequent rounds’, with their Liverpool future not certain, ‘transfer talks’ have started.

Both the Liverpool stars have only 14 months left in their current contract, which would end after next season.

Liverpool would either look to get the players to extend their contract or sell them for a good fee, rather than lose for free.

Should Liverpool take a transfer gamble, but who could fill in for Salah and Mane?

Mo Salah will be turning 30 in June, while Sadio Mane celebrated his 30th birthday a couple of days back. The age isn’t the issue until now but their future at Liverpool remains in their hands itself.

It’s now up to Mo Salah if he’s ready to accept the “updated contract” at Liverpool or look to move out.

Mo Salah is expecting a record £400k in weekly wages from the Anfield Club. What surprised the fans is that the Egyptian had rejected the initial contract offered to him.

On the other hand, Sadio Mane is also good at ‘expecting a raise’ in his weekly wage and being around what Salah is receiving.

Salah and Mane may have to part ways if they are expecting more than £250,000 per week. Liverpool has already signed two fantastic strikers in Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz and bringing in a third could be a good alternative to paying significant money.

Situational replacement for Mo and Mane

It is not easy to replace the great servants of LFC for obvious reasons. They both have scored 266 goals for the Reds and have helped the team to clinch many titles in the previous seasons.

If both the players fail to agree, then the management led by Klopp will have to look for alternatives.

The FSG also recently stated that it could “consider” the signing of Darwin Nunez from Benfica if things don’t go as planned.

The Uruguayan forward is under the radar of many top clubs in Europe, and certainly, Liverpool are one of them.

But surprisingly, West Ham ace Jarrod Bowen is the latest name buzzing for a move to Liverpool. The 25-year-old has registered 14 goals in all competitions this season so far.

The Englishman seems the type of guy, Klopp prefers to have in his team, a hard worker with and without the ball. Not the finished article yet, but could be molded into a class player under the German’s coaching.

Bowen is definitely an underrated winger, and as per FotMob, Bowen has an impressive match rating of 7.34 in the Premier League so far.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have already procured the signing of young Fabio Carvalho who’s been “sensational” at Fulham this season.

To see ‘fresh faces and young blood’ at the Liverpool attack is going to be ‘really interesting’ if the Seasoned campaigners are no longer available.
