Divock Origi will take a transfer exit from Liverpool as the Belgian agreed to join AC Milan for this summer.

The Reds forward will be remembered as a cult hero for the Anfield club. Moreover, some regard him as a Liverpool legend for the heroics he has shown in securing victories at crucial times.

The Belgian played a pivotal role in Liverpool’s triumph in UEFA Champions League 2018-19.

The Liverpool No. 27’s contract expires at the end of the current season. Moreover, Origi is ready to leave Liverpool as a free agent at the end of the season.

The big next move for Origi is to Milan, as the transfer is nearing completion.

Origi Transfer from Liverpool

According to Sport Mediaset, Divock Origi has now signed his contract with AC Milan to join the Serie A leaders in a free transfer this summer once his Liverpool deal ends after the Rossoneri increased their offer.

Sport Mediaset also reported that the San Siro ownership played an important role in convincing the Belgian International to join the club. But the negotiations over a pay cut from his Anfield Salary were proving difficult.

Origi will walk away from a 4 million euros a year deal in June once the end of his term. Yet AC Milan’s initial proposal was only 3 million euros a year which later increased to 3.5 million a year. AC Milan will award Origi a three-year contract upon his arrival from Liverpool.

Future of Origi?

Despite his big goals, the Belgian’s playing time decreased as Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane, Diogo Jota, and newcomer Luis Diaz are favored above him.

To be honest, if the 26-year-old move to AC Milan makes sense as he is sure to start in the starting eleven. Rossoneri’s are currently deployed with old boys Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Olivier Giroud in the striker’s position.

Both the star forwards are in the later stage of their career, adding a young pacy attacker will add quality to Milan’s attack.

A move to Rossoneri’s red and black will finally end Origi’s frustrating time with Merseysiders.

We wish him, good luck.
