Liverpool Legend Steven Gerrard will make a return to Anfield for the first time as a manager. After his brilliant title-winning season with Rangers at Scottish premiership, Gerrard was officially appointed as Aston Villa’s boss last week on a three-and-a-half-year contract.

Gerrard Won the Scottish premiership without a single defeat in the season and helped Rangers to lift the title after 10 years. Now he’s on a roll to bring Villa back to winning ways as they lost their previous five Premier League fixtures.

Steven Gerrard speaks out about his Anfield return

On December 11th Steven Gerrard will travel to Anfield to play against the Reds. A club where he spent 28 years as a player. The Liverpool Club legend has 700 appearances and has also lifted the Champions League trophy in 2005 as the Reds captain.

He left the club in 2015 to play for LA Galaxy in Major League Soccer and returned back as Liverpool’s youth coach in 2017. Gerrard managed Liverpool’s under-18 and Under-19 sides, before leaving for Glasgow to become the manager of Rangers in 2018.

His return to Anfield as a Manager will be the biggest news of December. With fans wanting him to be the successor of Jurgen Klopp, Gerrard will stand against him on the turf he knows from his childhood.

Gerrard spoke to Villa TV about his return to Anfield

I don’t think me or anyone else will be able to control the noise. For me, that’s not important.

What is important is the chance to go to Anfield and win, to take maximum points, which is the attitude and mentality we will have going into every game. It is what it is.

I want to win every game that I play in. Now my priority and focus, and everything I will give on a daily basis, will be for Aston villa.

One thing I can guarantee the supporters and the players and all the staff here is that when I commit to something, I’m all in.

Gerrard is set to face four games on his road to Anfield’s return against Brighton, Crystal Palace, the champions Manchester City and Leicester City. With big games ahead and huge expectations on him, he has a lot on his plate before he thinks about his Anfield return.

It will surely be a full house at Anfield when Jurgen Klopp welcomes Steven Gerrard on the 11th of December 2021.
