Liverpool have expressed their earnest desire to bring back Raheem Sterling to Anfield. This could turn out to be one of the most fascinating and shocking moves.

Raheem Sterling left Liverpool for Manchester City in the summer of 2015. This was a few months before Jurgen Klopp took over the Reds. Since joining Man City, Sterling has 116 goals in 307 appearances alongside 3 Premier League titles registered to his name.

However, the England international has been out of favour recently, having started just three Premier League games this season. He could possibly be allowed to leave at the end of the season if he desires to do so. Although his contribution to Manchester City has been immense.

While Ekrem Konur, the journalist believes that Liverpool are wanting the English winger back at Anfield. Further, the journalist tweeted saying

Liverpool could make an offer to Manchester City for Raheem Sterling.

Should Liverpool really make a move for Sterling?

There will be many Liverpool supporters who will oppose this move because of Sterling’s rancorous move six years ago. Therefore, Liverpool fans will not want him back but this might turn out to be a good one for Jurgen Klopp.

He is 26 and still has many years left in him. His speed and agility are what makes him a favourable prospect in Klopp’s eyes. He is an ideal option for Liverpool’s attack and will be instrumental in the final third.

Liverpool were eyeing another attacker this summer but could not get one. Therefore, Sterling is a readymade product that will definitely shine in Klopp’s system. The question here is that, do Liverpool have anyone else on their radar who is better than him? Looking at the transfer rumours, it seems like Jurgen Klopp may be having more attacking options in mind though.

This would be a massive surprise if the deal pushes further and gets done. While Jurgen Klopp has praised Raheem Sterling in the past for his excellence. Thus, it will be interesting to see what happens as time will reveal Sterling’s fate and destination.
